Deglobalization as a Chance for Europe? Security and Prosperity for Next Generations

Friday, February 18, 2022, 3:30 p.m.

Please note: This event has been canceled due to illness. We apologize for any inconvenience.

This is an official side event on the occasion of the Munich Security Conference 2022.

The world after the Covid-19 pandemic will definitely be a different one than previously known. Our cultural activities, the actions of the state, world trade, tourism, cooperation, and even conflicts have been shaped by this pandemic. How should we deal with such changes?

What makes this topic so special is that our young target group will not only experience a post-19th century world, but will also have to live with the decisions made today. Is deglobalization the right answer? What is Europe like after Covid-19? What will our concept of security look like? These questions about tomorrow will serve as guidelines for a fruitful discussion between experts and the interested young public. Through an interactive format, young people will interact with experts. Opinions, views, and perspectives will be exchanged and questions be answered by experts.

The Young GSP, youth organization of the Gesellschaft für Sicherheitspolitik e.V., wants to address this issue on the occasion of the Munich Security Conference 2022. Jessica Nies and Stephan Klaus, Young GSP national spokespersons, will moderate the event. Together with interesting panelists, a high degree of interactivity with the audience will be created in the format of an Open Townhall Meeting: Put forward your questions on the podium at eye level with the experts.
