Nothing brings people together like music, but what about dance?

Hip-hop is a cultural movement that traces its roots back to the first legendary "Block parties" in the 1970s in the South Bronx of New York City, and has since developed into a worldwide subculture.

The dance competition, on May 20, 2023, brings together people who love dance and music. Dancers from all over Europe will come together at Amerikahaus to compete against each other in the categories of hip-hop, house and popping to showcase their skills.

However, the focus is not just on measuring abilities, but also on sharing knowledge and experience. That's why workshops will take place on May 19, 2023, one day before the competition, where experienced jury members pass on their knowledge to the participants. In addition, dance enthusiasts are invited to watch the competition on May 20 as spectators.

Hip-hop is not only a culture, but also a sport, where all parts of the body are put in motion. Freestyle dance enhances body awareness and joy, while also focusing on oneself and one's abilities. Through the language of dance, people of all backgrounds, social classes, and genders draw attention to themselves and their surroundings.

The prize money of the dance competition is 1.200€ in total, 400€ per category. In addition, the winners will receive a handmade vintage bag from 6rooks.
