Yale University Post-Graduate Research Fellowship

€2,000 Grant (each), Fall 2024/Spring 2025

The Bavarian American Academy and The Yale Club of Germany invite doctoral researchers to apply for one of two available Post-Graduate Research Fellowships at the Gilder Lehrman Center for the Study of Slavery, Resistance, and Abolition at Yale University.

During a one-month research stay, up to two fellows will get the opportunity to conduct research and participate in the activities of the Gilder Lehrman Center. Thus, they will be in close contact to the experts on site. In addition, fellows have access to all of Yale University's libraries.

Fellows should use the grant to cover the tuition (ca. $450) and for travel and accommodation costs. The duration of their research stay is one month; fellows will coordinat the exact travel period with Professor David Blight and Dr. Michelle Zacks at the Gilder Lehrman Center. Requirements

The Post-Graduate Research Fellowship at Yale University is open to early career researchers working on doctoral projects that are supervised at a Bavarian university. Projects need to align with the research conducted at the Gilder Lehrman Center and have to be situated in a discipline represented in the Bavarian American Academy, preferably in the fields of history, political sciences, sociology, economics, law, area studies, geography, American literary and cultural studies, or art history.
