Fellowships

The Bavarian American Academy supports early career scholars working at Bavarian universities. To this end, the BAA fellowship program helps doctoral and postdoctoral researchers realize short-term research stays at top American universities and research institutions.

Bavarian Library of Congress Fellowship

Visit the John W. Kluge Center at the Library of Congress in Washington, DC for five to six months. During your research stay, you will have a work space, participate in activities at the Center, and get facilitated access to the collections, databases, and libraries for your research.

Post-Graduate Research Fellowship at Harvard University

We award two fellowships that allow early career researchers to work at Harvard University for two to three months. Fellows have access to the university libraries and will be supported by local contacts.

Conduct research for two to three months at the Gilder Lehrman Center for the Study of Slavery, Resistance and Abolition. You will work closely with professors at the Center and have access to all libraries. In 2025, we award two fellowships.
