The Futures of American Studies Summer Academy gave me the opportunity to share my work and learn from other researchers that study the United States in a global context and who reflect on the political, economic, cultural, and ideological impact of the United States in the world. The Summer Academy was incredibly helpful for me and gave me further insights into the particularities of applying theories and methods, and especially, doing American Studies from a transnational and global perspective.

The Futures of American Studies Summer Institute at Dartmouth College was an amazing and rewarding experience for me. I received valuable and thought-provoking feedback for my project during the seminar sessions. Moreover, I was really impressed and fascinated by the sophisticated and exciting talks that I was able to attend during the morning and evening plenary sessions. Furthermore, I was happy that I was able to get in touch with other PhD students from the field of American studies during the seminars and the social events such as the barbecue and to learn about their individual projects. I very much enjoyed my stay at the Summer Institute and I would highly recommend applying for it to fellow PhD students.
