Conference Venue

The 35th Biennial EAAS-conference, titled 1924-2024: The American Immigrant Narrative Revisited, is hosted by the Bavarian American Academy (BAA) and takes place in Amerikahaus München and, as a second location, HFF Munich (Hochschule für Fernsehen und Film).

Amerikahaus Munich is the central location of the EAAS Conference 2024. The conference opening, all keynote lectures, and several of the parallel sessions will take place in Amerikahaus' lecture halls Theatersaal and Karolinensaal. In Amerikahaus, conference participants will also find the event office with a registration desk and staff members to provide support, if needed.

Munich Airport Information

Our second conference venue is Munich's Hochschule für Fernsehen und Film (HFF München). At times when there are parellel sessions, several panels will take place in the rooms of the HFF. This second conference venue is in walking distance from Amerikahaus, and participants can easily reach it within a few minutes.

Hochschule für Fernsehen und Film Munich

Turn left on Karolinenplatz and take the second main street (Barer Straße). On Barer Straße, stay on the left side of the street. After about 300 meters, before the next intersection with Gabelsbergerstraße, you will reach Hochschule für Fernsehen und Film. Enter the building on the side of Gabelsbergerstraße.

See how to get to HFF München from Amerikahaus on Google Maps

Directions provided by the HFF

The conference dinner on Friday evening will take place at Paulaner am Nockherberg. We very much look forward to enjoying drink and food together at one of Munich's most famous breweries with a longstanding history in the Bavarian capital. Those attending the conference dinner need to have registered and pre-paid the fee (EUR 65) via their ConfTool-accounts.

Paulaner am Nockherberg

Take the subway U2 (direction Messestadt Ost) from Königsplatz to Kolumbusplatz, then walk 10 minutes to Paulaner Nockherberg.

Take the streetcar 27 (direction "Sendlinger Tor U") from station "Karolinenplatz" to the stop "Sendlinger Tor," switch to streetcar 18 (direction "Schwanensee") to "Ostfriedhof," then walk 5 minutes to Paulaner Nockherberg.
