Join graphic novel creator Leela Corman for an artist's talk on Tuesday, May 8, 2021, 16 – 17:30. Learn how she creates her history-based comics, how she balances personal storytelling with fictional storytelling techniques, and the art history that feeds into her work.


Corman will show her latest book and related non-fiction, all while describing her creation approach – a combination of research and less linear processes.


Speaker: Leela Corman is an American graphic novel creator, artist, illustrator and educator. “She is the creator of numerous works of autobiographical and fictional comics, including Unterzakhn (Schocken-Pantheon, 2012) and We All Wish For Deadly Force (Retrofit/Big Planet, 2016).” Leela Corman holds workshops all over the world and is an instructor at the Center for Jewish Studies at the University of Florida.
