Graphic Art Workshop for Students: Learn from Leela Corman

This free workshop for students takes place digitally via Zoom.


This workshop will focus on personal storytelling through images and texts. Artist Leela Corman will teach the workshop by using a combination of short writing and drawing exercises for any level of artistic ability. Participants will leave the workshop with a better grasp on the art of storytelling and translating ideas into (visual) literature.


About the workshop director:  Leela Corman is an American graphic novel creator, artist, illustrator and educator. She is the creator of numerous works of autobiographical and fictional comics, including Unterzakhn (Schocken-Pantheon, 2012) and We All Wish For Deadly Force (Retrofit/Big Planet, 2016). Leela Corman holds workshops all over the world and is an instructor at the Center for Jewish Studies at the University of Florida.


Format: Digital via Zoom

Duration: 2 hours

Who can join: Students with a passion for sequential art and/or storytelling and creative writing. Any student from any school form with fair English ability, grade 10 and above is encouraged to participate.

Maximum number of Participants: 15-20
