Call for Applications: BAA Fellowship Program 2025

Deadline: February 15, 2025

We invite emerging scholars at Bavarian universities to apply for the fellowships in our Fellowship Program 2025. The fellowships of the Bavarian American Academy provide opportunities to realize short-term research stays at top American universities and research institutions. They are open to individuals, whose doctoral or postdoctoral project is supervised at a Bavarian university. We accept applications until mid-February 2025.

More specifically, we are looking forward to giving fellows the unique opportunity to conduct research at the John W. Kluge Center at the Library of Congress in Washington, D.C., at Harvard University, at the Gilder Lehrman Center for the Study of Slavery, Resistance, and Abolition at Yale University, and at Duke University. We are grateful to the generous support of our partners, who enable us to provide the BAA Fellowship Program: the Bavarian State Chancellery, the Harvard Club of Munich e.V., and the Yale Club of Germany e.V.

Successful applicants should plan their research stay in late summer or the fall of 2025. At the Gilder Lehrman Center (Yale University), research stays are possible for one fellow in the fall of 2025, for a second fellow in the spring of 2026. The application deadline for all fellowships ends on Saturday, February 15, 2025. More detailed information and application criteria for the individual fellowships are available on our website.
