Call for Applications: Young Transatlantic Leadership Initiative

April 5, 2022

Bringing together the next generation of leaders, the Young Transatlantic Leadership Initiative (YTL) offers an exciting opportunity for young professionals interested in transatlantic relations. The organization, led by the Deutsch-Kanadische Gesellschaft e.V. with the support of the Canada Meets Germany Network e.V., organizes a two-week study tour in September 2022 and is currently searching for eight participants who would like to discuss the most pressing societal issues with a diverse group of young community and/or professional leaders from Germany and Canada.

Between September 11 and 23, 2022, fourteen participants will travel to Munich and Berlin to meet with representatives of civil society and scientists from various fields in order to discuss modern mobility solutions, transatlantic politics and cultural ties that connect Canada, Europe and Germany. The program will continue in the following year, when eight new participants will join the group of young leaders for a two-week tour in Canada.

If you are between 27 and 37 years old, interested in transatlantic relations and have already stood out through your professional or personal impact in a local or regional community, the YTL is looking forward to your application! Please send a letter of application stating your interest in the program and your current résumé or CV (including contact information) via e-mail to applications@ytl-initiative.org. Applications must be submitted no later than April 18, 2022, by 10 p.m. (EDT). The participation cost for the selected participants is €1100/Can$1550, which covers all primary costs including accommodation (12 nights), breakfast, all program activities, and transportation between Munich and Berlin. Travel costs to Munich and from Berlin are not included. Full details of the program, as well as the application and selection criteria, are available online at www.ytl-initiative.org.

Good luck for your application!
