Cameron Abadi – "Climate Radicals: Why our Environmental Politics Isn’t Working"

Thursday, January 16, 2025, 7 p.m.

In this Munich Dialogues on Democracy hybrid lecture, Cameron Abadi will talk about his new book Climate Radicals: Why our Environmental Politics Isn't Working. He will discuss tensions between climate policy and democracy and how those tensions are being resolved in increasingly radical ways. Germany should have been a global leader in combating climate change — its voters consider it a major issue and back the world’s most powerful Green Party. Yet, Germany’s climate policies have been disappointing. What happened?

Cameron Abadi is a deputy editor at Foreign Policy (FP) and co-host of FP’s Ones and Tooze podcast. He previously worked at the New Republic and Foreign Affairs and as a correspondent in Germany and Iran. His writing has appeared in Bloomberg Businessweek, The New Yorker, The New Republic, and Der Spiegel.

On Tuesday, January 14, 2025, 7 p.m., the Democracy Book Group will discuss Cameron Abadi‘s book Climate Radicals

This event is part of our event series Amerikahaus Book Talks.
