The Election Brunch will take place at Amerikahaus, and schools are welcome to join in from their classrooms via Zoom. Please include your prefered format in your registration e-mail.
With the polls closed and the first results trickling in, where does the United States stand after the 2024 general election? What are the next steps in the election, and what are electoral votes?
Over pretzels and tea, Dr. Markus Hünemörder will discuss the initial key results of the U.S. presidential and congressional elections, answering questions students have about the current political scene in swing states, Washington D.C. and in news media outlets. The usual lecture format will be replaced with a more interactive Q&A format so that students can ask as many questions about the elections as possible. Questions may be asked in English or in German.
Schedule:
9:30 Doors open, pretzels and tea served
10:00 Opening remarks
10:15 First analysis of the election results so far
10:45 Open Q&A
11:30 Clean-up and dish return
12:00 End
This brunch is free of charge. Reservations can be made via e-mail by school teachers and individual students grades 11 through 13. Please include the number of students and your school's name with your registration.
