Free to Rock is a 60-minutes documentary film directed by four Emmy winning filmmaker Jim Brown and narrated by Kiefer Sutherland, featuring Presidents Carter and Gorbachev and highlighting interviews and performances by artists who played behind the Iron Curtain like Bruce Springsteen, Metallica, Billy Joel and many more.

 

Ten years in the making, the film explores how the soft power of American Rock and Roll affected social change behind the Iron Curtain between the years 1955 and 1991, thus contributing to the collapse of the Soviet Union and the end of the Cold War. 

The screening is followed by a panel discussion with producer Douglas Yeager.
