Bayerische Amerika-Akademie hat 2 Stipendien für Dartmouth vergeben


Die Bayerische Amerika-Akademie hat in diesem Jahr erstmalig zwei Plätze für die Teilnahme am renommierten "Futures of American Studies"- One Week Summer Institute am Dartmouth College vergeben. Diese haben Cedric Essi und Florian Weinzierl erhalten, die vom 19.06.2017 bis 25.06.2017 in New Hampshire am Summer Institute, welches Donald E. Pease leitet, teilnehmen werden. 


Das Stipendium umfasst die Teilnahmegebühr von 650 Euro ($695.00) sowie einen Reisekostenzuschuss in Höhe von 500 Euro.

Cedric Essi
is a lecturer for American Studies at the University of Bremen and a doctoral candidate at FAU Erlangen-Nürnberg. He graduated from the University of Würzburg with a Staatsexamen in English and French as well as with an M.A. in American Studies. Currently, he is completing his dissertation project Interracial Family Memoirs, which provides a critical typology of how U.S. Americans have made use of autobiographical practices in order to claim kinship across the color line since the 1990s.


Florian Weinzierl is currently an assistant at the American Studies department at the University of Regensburg and REAF Coordinator of the Regensburg European American Forum (REAF). He has studied as a Fulbright student at Wesleyan University, CT, and at the University of Regensburg, Germany, where he completed his first state exam in 2014. At the moment, he is working on his PhD thesis focusing on contemporary American musical theater at the intersections of American Studies, queer studies, and performance studies. In addition to his scholarly pursuits, he is a theater performer and since 2011 has been engaged in multiple productions of the University of Regensburg’s musical theater ensemble UR Stage Club.
